Public education is an important function of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.  Here, an instructor teaches students about the various aids to navigation (ATON's) they may encounter while boating.

Recreational boating safety is the foundation of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.  Members perform countless hours patrolling our nations watwerway's to assist boaters in distress.
