The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian arm of Team Coast Guard.  It is comprised of over 32,900 dedicated individuals who support their country by supplementing the active duty and reserve forces, performing safety patrols, providing public education classes for boaters, carrying out vessel safety checks and a whole lot more.  Membership is open to all U.S. citizens, age 17 and older, provided they have not been convicted of any serious crime.
